Sergei Stern
Sergei Stern is a Sundance Composer Fellow (17'), whose music was featured in 'GOTHAM' TV series, 'Inside Amy Schumer' TV Show as well as 'Pawn Stars' and 'American Pickers' and other shows on History Channel, National Geographic, E!, HULU, Netflix. The recent film he scored is a thriller-comedy Dark Web: Cicada 3301 (Alan Ritchson, Conor Leslie, Jack Kesy) that has been purchased by Lionsgate studio. Biopic drama Kalashnikov (2020), was written and produced by two-times Academy Awards nominee, which has won the Golden Eagle award, 2021. Sergei's previous film, Queen Of Spades 2: The Looking Glass (2019), was picked up by Disney receiving distribution all around the globe. Before that Sergei has scored a documentary film The Boatman co-produced by Werner Herzog. Sergei has won 7 'Best Original Score' awards at various film festivals.
Sergei Stern is a music composer with a traditional, Russian piano school background, Bmus in composition and conducting from Buchmann-Mehta School of Music and MFA in Music Composition for Screen from Columbia College Chicago, USA.
He started developing his music taste at an early age of 3 when he began studying piano. After finishing Russian piano school, he began composing his first pieces. While studying classical music composition at Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Sergei also played in a rock band. Sergei decided to combine his songwriting, contemporary multimedia music composition, classical orchestration techniques, and performance abilities and be able to use those with another passion he had - cinema. After he permanently moved to the United States, Sergei graduated from a film school, assisted Danny Elfman and Steve Bartek, wrote music for top Hollywood composers, and then took an independent route. Since then he has scored more than 100 films including documentaries, animations, short films, 10 feature films, dozens of video games, a musical, plenty of commercials, and multimedia projects.
